An independent Climate Action Committee without Brown Act Restrictions can have a bigger impact on the climate

I urge you to make the Climate Action Committee a No Brown Act, Stand Alone Committee and I urge the CAC members to support this position as well

After reading about this issue, watching a few CAC meetings and observing the CAC members at the last meeting, I encourage the council to choose Option 1 for the following reasons:

The only actions I have seen in the last two years are proclamations that have little impact and a study to find out why people don’t want to put all their gas appliances in the dump and buy new electric

It would be a huge breach of faith for Council to declare a fiscal emergency and then fund a committee which does not need financial support to function. In the last 5 years, the CAC has cost citizens $200,000 or about ¼ of the current deficit
