Neysa Hinton

Post by admin »

If Neysa Hinton Becomes Sebastopol's City Manager...a few questions come to mind:

Could she continue in her role as Sebastopol's mayor?
If not: Would Diana Rich immediately replace her as mayor?

Could she continue in her role as a member of Sebastopol's city council?
If not: How would she be replaced for the duration of her current council term?
  • By the nearest runner-up in last year's election (if memory serves, Oliver Dick)?
  • By mayoral appointment (possibly subject to approval by the rest of the council)?
  • By a special election?
If by special election: Might this be a driver in the rush to create a special election this November?
If she has applied for the position, is it appropriate that she participate in the ad hoc committee exploring election options?

According to The Sebastopol Times, council member "Maurer also objected to the idea of raising money for public safety when all the sales tax money would really do is replace general fund money currently going to police and fire, so that the money freed up in the general fund could be used elsewhere".

Might "elsewhere" include funding the position Mayor Hinton hopes to fill?

If anyone knows the answers to these questions, a reply to this post would be very much appreciated.
